Char siew, Chocolate Brownie and Puppeh...

The best Char Siew I have ever tasted is in Aman Suria. This restaurant is called 'Seremban Best something something. I forgot. Sorry.  =.="
But is has the word Seremban. =)

Delicious roasted sweet char siew
Every time without fail when I am in Aman Suria, I will definitely visit this shop and order a medium plate of char siew. Without Fail I tell you!!!

Tender succulent meat!
This dish is also accompanied with the sweet thick sauce. Might be a little too sweet but hey, no complaints from me!

So, I decided to make chocolate Brownie the other day from a recipe that I found in my library, in college. I have to say, this is the BEST BROWNIES I HAVE EVER EATEN AND MADE!
This is awesome, after baking it, there was a thin crunchy layer on top of the brownie. It was so good! A tad sweet though, but no fear, am going to reduce the sugar the next time. This shall be my permanent recipe for a good brownie. I fell in love with this recipe! AWESOME!!!

See the 2 forks in the bowl? I could not find the whisk and I was desperate, decided to use 2 forks in place of a whisk.
Thick and chocolatey.

Puppy time, actually she is no longer a puppy, a dog already but we still like to pretend she is still one. =)
Fluffy on a chair.

Oogling at my brownies.

Who is this Man?

Well, Easter is just around the corner and this time around, Agape Gospel Assembly has decided to have another musical. =)

Everyone is invited, for non-Muslims though.  Map and place and dates and times are all provided at the link below.
For more Information please visit the facebook page link below.

This time the message, or rather the point of view is from someone quite unexpected. A little different from all the other musicals we have done. The stage looks really good. I only took a picture of the stage from afar. It is very beautiful, so real it almost transports one back in time.

Sorry for the bad quality, this does not paint the exact picture of the really stage.

Pharisees and Sadducee s

Sorry for the lack of pictures and post. Am still trying to get used to writing now after the long absence. Need to think twice before penning or in this case, typing it down.

Having a flu at the moment. Due dates for assignments are just around the corner. Oh, the feeling of rushing to finish up my assignments is so exhilarating.

Peace out!

PS: Might be making Risotto soon! Watch out!

Cookie dough and good food.

Mum and youngest sis came up for the hols. Where ever my mum is, there will be good food. The feeling of being pampered IS nice! =)

Stir fried bitter gourd with egg and tomatoes

This dish was a tad salty as Trix added more salt to it even though I distinctively told her that it has been seasoned.

Stir fried vegetables consisting of cabbage, carrots and celery

What is a healthy meal without veggies! Believe it or not, I used to hate vegetables (almost every normal kid does), but I learn to like them due to the very fact they keep me healthy and full and in good shape. Haha, yes, I do gorge myself full with vegetables sometimes to keep fit.

Hakka style fish with lots of ginger and Mui choy

This was superb! Mum had actually wanted to follow a recipe from the book but was lacking in a key ingredient, ham choi (salted, preserved cabbage) so she had to improvise. =) It was yums!

Just a random photo showing the happy me!

Baked chocolate cookies last Saturday. It had been a while since I've baked cookies. I found it too much of a bother to baked cookies and had resorted to baking a whole cake instead. Simpler as it did not need scooping the dough out in batches and waiting for it to cool. Another reason for me not baking biscuits is because the recipes that I follow gives me soft chewy cookies which many people find weird. They prefer the hard, crispy, crunchy texture.

As usual, when I have the spare time I usually go to the library in my college and pour over mountains and mountains of recipe books. Found a recipe that seemed quite easy and decided to try it out.

Yes, I wrote it down. In fact, I have a book where I write all these recipes that I want to try out.

Cookie dough

I have always wondered what cookie dough would taste like but thanks to the fear of contracting Salmonella from raw eggs, this has prevented me from digging my fingers into this cookie dough even though it looked delicious.

Cookie dough

Little balls of cookie dough ready to turn into chocolate cookies!

Fresh from the oven!

Could not resist myself and took a bite, the chocolate was still warm and gooey, a bite of heaven!

Surprise, surprise, it turned out really good. The texture was crunchy and hard, almost like a store bought cookie! This recipe is a keeper!

Some of the cookies turned out a little bit too hard as I had over baked them. It happened as I was waiting for them to bake, I had decided to watch one episode of 'House' and was too engrossed to remember that I was baking. Thank God none of the biscuits were burnt, just a bit over done.

Dad bought a cake, chocolate cake. Chocolate coating was too think. Got sick after a few bites.
Oh well, cake!

Pasar Malam/ Night Market

Wei Wen invited me out to the Pasar Malam near where we stay. I have to say, I love Pasar Malam. The bustling atmosphere, the mingling of people, not to mention the shoving and pushing, the wide variety of food, ranging from simple fried finger foods such as fried squid, fried chicken to heavier substance food such as Asam Laksa, Char Kuew Teow and many more.

By the way, I have been searching all over for this particular color of nail polish. I got it from The Face shop but it seems that, that color is not in production anymore. =( I really loved the color as it looked like black but it is actually a very dark shade of blue. =(

Anyone knows where to get it?

Padi House.

Pip's cousin's baby just reached one month and had celebrated it in a restaurant. Food wasn't too bad but the dessert left me speechless. There were around 200+ of these little cupcakes, all with different sugar dolls and toys. These beauties were specially ordered from somewhere. Managed to snatch one from the stack.

Too pretty to be eaten but, oh well, food IS food.

Beneath the coating of sugar was filled with coffee cream which then led to the chocolate cupcake.

Quite delicious for a cupcake. =)

My sister had recommended Padi House and it had took me quite some time to finally plant my hungry stomach into the restaurant. Pip took me there for brunch. When I say brunch, it basically means that I had not had my breakfast and am starving. As I entered the venue, the mouth-watering aromas drifted past my nose and quickly planted myself sturdily on the nearest empty seat.

First we ordered the Grilled chicken with Cafe De Paris. Do not ask me what Cafe De Paris means as I do not have the slightest idea.

As I have said, I was hungry and I dug into the food before I remembered to take a picture. Not much was eaten, as I was stopped by Pip before devouring the whole plate.

Grilled chicken with Cafe De Paris

I was expecting a bigger portion but was led down. The piece of chicken was slightly larger than my hand. Sauce was made from mushroom and onions. Nothing much to shout about. For the price of RM14.90 this dish was not what I had anticipated.

Next on the menu is the Pasta De Pesto with Grilled Chicken.

Pasta De Pesto with Grilled Chicken

Overall this dish was somewhat bearable. Chicken a tad dry, pasta a little under seasoned. Quite a disappointment for dish that cost RM13.90. But I prefer this dish over the grilled chicken.

The only thing that redeemed Padi House from losing a customer is the coffee.

This Italy imported coffee has well exceeded my expectations of a good ol cup of coffee.I ordered the Toasted Hazelnut Cappucinno.

Toasted Hazelnut Cappucinno

For the price of RM7.90, it was one of the well spent money I had for quite some time. Aromatic with the slightly bitter aftertaste one gets from good coffee, with a hint of nutty hazelnut was perfect. My palette definitely approves of this coffee!

Will definitely go back for the coffee!

The Script - Before The Worst

It's been a while since the two of us talked
About a week since the day that you walked
Knowing things would never be the same
With your empty heart and mine full of pain

So explain to me how it came to this
Take it back to the night we kissed
It was Dublin city on a Friday night
With vodkas and coke, I was getting insomniac

We were sitting with our backs against the world
Saying things that we thought but never heard
Oh, who would've thought it would end up like this

But everything we talked about is gone
And the only chance we have of moving on
Was trying to take it back before it all went wrong

Before the worst, before we met
Before our hearts decided it's time to love again
Before too late, before too long
Let's try and take it back before it all went wrong

There was a time that we'd stay up all night
Best friends, yeah talking till the daylight
Took the joys alongside the pain
With not much to lose but so much to gain

Are you hearing me? 'Cause I don't wanna miss

That you would drift on memory bliss
It was Grafton street on a rainy night
I was down on one knee and you were mine for life

We were thinking we would never be apart
With your name tattooed across my heart
Oh, who would've thought it would end up like this

But everything we talked about is gone
And the only chance we have of moving on
Was trying to take it back before it all went wrong

Before the worst, before we met
Before our hearts decided it's time to love again
Before too late, before too long
Let's try and take it back before it all went wrong

If the clouds don't clear
Then we'll rise above it, we'll rise above it
Heavens gate is so near, come walk with me through
Just like we used to, just like we used to, yeah, yeah

Let's take it back before it all went wrong

Before the worst, before we met
Before our hearts decided it's time to love again
Before too late, before too long
Let's try and take it back before it all went wrong
Let's try and take it back before it all went wrong

It's aliveeeeee!

Welcome back dear readers (if there are any). I know, sorry for the long absence. Part of me was lazy to commit to writing and keeping a blog while the other part was just the lack of time. Many things have passed since the last time I wrote. I got a new handphone. HTC.

In addition to the promise of more posts, I would try to upload as much pictures as possible.
Looking forward to improving my writing skills and healthier life style. =)
