PORK FEAST! BEWARE!!!


This is a long overdue post, a post about my third sister's birthday! She turned 18 on the 1st of October! =)

As usual, she has the most cakes on her birthday. I baked a chocolate cake and dad decided that we would celebrate her birthday there and then. Though it was meant to be a joke, we did sing a birthday song for her.

It was Trixie's idea to surprise her with a dinner in Brotzeit. Brotzeit, a German beer bar and restaurant located in Mid Valley serves a very wide range of you guessed it, PORK!

Ranging from the pork knuckle, sausages so stuffed and large it made you full just by looking at them.
The first bite into the succulent and thick sausage had me overcome with emotion as I was swept away by a wave of juiciness and aromatic garlic flavor of the garlic sausage, the tender meat that fell of the bone of the rib, bacon slices with layers of fat and meat at equal ratio, thick and juicy, the big chunks of meat from the pork knuckle with 2 side dishes of saurkraut and potato salad.

Let's just say, I couldn't look at another pork dish for a week. =D

Before the food arrived, we were served some good authentic German beer, but, as I am more of a wine/liquor drinker, I found the 4 different types of beer the same. I did notice the different taste but all left me feeling slightly ill as I do not like the taste of beer.

Devil's chocolate cake and a celebration.

My church has been standing strong for 30 years now. We had a celebration lunch in Min Kok. Food was ok, but the company was nice. We had an 8 course lunch.

Some fish served in thai style sauce.

Made a two layer chocolate cake. Complete with a chocolate coating. Chris helped me a lot. Don't think I could have managed without her.

If you asked me, this taste exactly like American Chocolate cake. Surprisingly, I used some cheap baking chocolate as the coating. The cocoa powder used is Hershey. Super duper expensive. But it is delicious! Yummeh!

My mum found my necklace and rings. Ahahhaaha. Thought it was gone forever. =)

A long needed post.

Sorry for the long hiatus, AGAIN.

There is an addition to the family in Taylor's lakeside campus. Ducks and lots and lots of geese.


The art of using anything or anyone in this case as a canvas. Model in this picture is Jamine Joesph who was kind enough to allow me to put my work on her hand.


Looking at her bone structure, she has tiny hands. I mean bones. My wrists looks like a man's next to hers.

Went all the way to KLCC to do my assignment, at the same time, tried the macaroons from Harrods. I've got to say, the chocolate ones are the best, thick and chocolaty. I've tried quite a few macaroons from all over but so far, Harrod's chocolate macaroons are the best.

By the way, did I mention that my oven is fixed? =D

More baking to come soon. Might either attempt to make macaroons again or just stick to making cinnamon buns. It's been quite a while since I've baked something substantial.

As usual, I need to brush up on my grammar and spelling and sentence structure.

I will be back. =)

Too long.

My mum says my sentences are too long. Therefore, I will try to write them shorter. And at the meantime, improve my grammar. I need to brush up on my reading. I use to read books by the dozen but now, I am resorted to a book in 2 months?

Updates coming soon. I hope. Maybe. Maybe not. Who knows?

V for Vendetta

Watched V for Vendetta for the first time today. One word. Awesome. Second word. Mind-blowing.

All in all, it is a very good film which left me wanting more. Even though the story had ended, I wished there was more to it.

Made macaroons, or to be specific, I made unsweetened and flat macaroons. =(

Tried twice in a row and failed miserably.

First time, the blender had warmed my almond mixture which had the almond oil seeping out and turning my mixture into mush. Secondly, the stupid recipe that I wrote down, or to be more exact, stupid me wrote down the wrong measurements, which had the original sugar measurement of 225g to 25g. Utter failure and miserable.
